In the scorching heat of the sun, safeguarding your skin becomes a priority. 


The APCH approach - Avoid, Protect, Cover, and Hydrate - serves as a comprehensive strategy for preventing sunburn. However, if the sun manages to leave its mark, immediate treatment is key to soothe and heal the skin. 

Prevent Sunburn with APCH :

1.Avoid:    

  • Sun or seek shade between 10 am to 5 pm when the sun is at its peak.    
  • Plan outdoor activities in the morning or late afternoon to minimize sun exposure.

2. Protect: 

  • Apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher on all exposed skin.
  • Select clothing that covers arms, legs, and face, and wear UV-protected sunglasses. 

3. Cover:    

  • Use wide-brimmed hats to shade your face and neck. 
  • Wear lightweight, long-sleeved shirts and pants for additional protection.

 4. Hydrate:    

  • Consume hydrating fluids with electrolytes, such as coconut water and electrolyte drinks. 
  • Include foods rich in water content, like watermelon and cucumber, in your diet.


 If you still, You Get Sunburn - Treat Immediately: 

1. Cooling Measures: 

  • Take a cool shower or bath to lower the skin's temperature.
  • Apply a cold compress or damp cloth to affected areas for immediate relief. 

2. Homeopathic Remedies: 

  • Utilize homeopathic remedies like Cantharis, Calendula, or Urtica Urens for their soothing properties. 
  • Aloe vera gel and chamomile-infused creams can also provide relief. 

3. Rehydrate: 

  • Drink plenty of water to replenish lost fluids and aid in the healing process. 
  • Consider electrolyte-rich drinks or homemade solutions with lemon, ginger, Celtic salt, and kelp.

 4. Moisturise: 

  • Use a gentle, fragrance-free moisturiser to keep the skin hydrated.
  • Avoid harsh skincare products that may further irritate sunburned skin.

 Remember, timely action with the APCH approach not only helps prevent sunburn but also ensures swift recovery if the sun takes its toll on your skin.
